Seamen apply a number of ways to build ship-to-ship & ship –to-shore communication. Among these, radiogram plays the unique role when the ship is at sea. To save both money and time, the text of the radiogram must be short, clear. Futhermore, the text is composed coherently to leave no possibilities for faults in mastering the content. Seen in achieveing a shortest possible text is “a must “ in ellipses, substitution and abbreviation which seems to be typical.
